Understated Luxury
No detail was overlooked when designing and building this home in Newlands. We were referred by Surround Architecture to help create an open, light filled home on a triple lot. One of this home’s unique design features is a masonry fireplace element that spans from the ground level, through the roof, and is the supporting structure for the Great Room. The Great Room is cantilevered over the outdoor patio which also features an outdoor fireplace. The cantilevered Great Room design presented a structural challenge: how to get all of that free interior space without structural support such as columns or walls? The result is a wonderfully open Kitchen/Great Room with plenty of space for light and movement. These homeowners used Surround Architecture to design everything down to the last tile, and the care and attention to detail in this home is remarkable.
