Project Description
Heartling Restoration
This was a complete interior remodel of a Charles Haertling designed home built in 1972. The home originally had an indoor swimming pool in the living room and a tennis court in the side yard. The project consisted of completely gutting the interior of the home to bare stud/roof joist, replacement of all windows, interior finishes, and a new deck in the side yard where the tennis court once was. Very little was done to the exterior beyond what was required to replace the windows. The window replacement was especially challenging due to the fact that the original windows were all site built and fully integrated into the Moss Rock columns and exterior veneer. Most windows extended floor to ceiling. The replacements were supplied by Alpen Windows here in Boulder. The style of the home was very modern and clean. All new doors and windows extended to the ceiling. The pleated steel stair structure with Oak treads and risers is one of the design highlights of the home.
